Story submission guidelines

Work stories are rarely just about work. They can involve people, relationships, difficult moments and experiences that feel personal.

We want you to tell your story. We just ask that you keep a few things in mind.

Tell us what happened, in your own way

You don't need to be a writer. You don't need a perfectly structured story either.

Tell us about the moment, experience or feeling that stayed with you. Write as much or as little as you need to.

Protect the people in your story

Please don't use the real names of colleagues, managers, clients or other people involved.

Avoid details that could easily identify them or their organisation unless you have permission to share them.

Keep confidential things confidential

Please don't share confidential employer or client information, trade secrets, private documents or anything you don't have the right to share.

You can choose to remain anonymous

You can tell us you'd like your story to be published anonymously.

If you're open to having your name associated with your story, let us know. If we decide to develop it further, we'll contact you and get your permission before publishing your identity.

Your story may evolve

We may edit, shorten, anonymise or fictionalise parts of a submission to protect people's identities and shape it into an untold work story.

Not every submission will be published, but every story shared with us will be considered with care.

One last thing

By submitting, you confirm that you've read our Story Submission Terms and Privacy Policy.
