There’s more to work

than the work.

Woman working at a desk in a bright home office with a large window, plants, framed quotes, and photos on the wall.

We talk a lot about what we do for work.

Not nearly enough about what work does to us.

The ambition. The doubt. The compromises. The things we carry into meetings, and home from them.

Untold Work Stories tells fictional stories about the parts of working life we don’t always say out loud. Stories about the people behind the job titles, the ambition behind the calm, and the cost behind the confidence.

Some of it lives in full stories, on our website, in short films, in a podcast you can listen to on your commute. Some of it lives in something quicker, a single moment, told in a few seconds, for the days you don’t have time for more.

Every story starts the same way. An ordinary day. A message. A meeting. Something small that ends up meaning more than it should.

We’re building this one story at a time, and we’re just getting started. New cases, new voices, and new formats are coming.

But underneath all of it, the idea stays simple.

Stories that make us pause. Stories that make us feel seen. Stories that sometimes leave us thinking, “I thought that was just me.”

So, what’s your untold work story?

You don’t need to be a writer. You just need a story. And yes, anonymous is absolutely an option.

A note from the founder

Hi there!

I've spent more than 15 years in the corporate world. Which means, unsurprisingly, I have a lot of work stories.

Thankfully, I've also always had an amazing bunch of friends at work. The kind you call after that meeting.

The ones you message when something happens. The ones who understand exactly what you mean when you say,

“You will not believe my day.”

And yet, I've realised that even with them, I don't always tell the whole story.

I tell a version of it.

Some details stay with me. Some emotions are difficult to explain.

Some moments seem too small to talk about, even though they change how you feel for the rest of the day

and sometimes the whole week.

And that got me thinking.

What if there was a place for those stories too?

A place where we could talk about the things that happen around work. The funny, awkward, difficult, exciting, uncomfortable and completely ordinary moments that somehow stay with us.

A place where you could read someone else's story and think:

“Oh. It's not just me.”

Because so many of us are living through these moments five days a week. Sometimes six. And, well… some weeks seven. 🙂

We won't all experience them in the same way. Some people shrug things off and move on. Some of us replay the conversation seventeen times on the way home. Neither is wrong.

Maybe hearing different stories, experiences and perspectives can help us understand each other a little better. Maybe they can make some of the things we carry from work feel a little lighter.

That's the idea behind Untold Work Stories™.

For now, we're starting small. An online space to tell stories, share experiences and slowly build a community around the human side of working life.

Where it goes from here, we'll see.

Maybe one day we'll take these conversations beyond the screen. Maybe we'll meet. Maybe the community will become something none of us has thought of yet.

But for now, the door is open. 🚪

Read a story. See if it feels familiar. Stay for another.

And if, somewhere along the way, you feel like telling us yours, we'll be here.

I suppose this is my first untold work story.

The story of why Untold Work Stories exists.
